Kay Lambert, LMFT
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist with a background that spans the sciences, technology, and full-time parenting—experiences that deeply inform my work with clients. I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University and a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from Caltech. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in IT and software development, and even moonlighted as a pastry chef for a number of years.
My clinical practice has focused on helping individuals, couples, and families navigate challenges such as relational distress, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. I’ve been especially honored to help clients gain insight and perspective from their family of origin experiences. I am neurodiversity affirming, and use attachment-based and culturally attuned approaches, drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also enjoy creating and facilitating workshops that promote emotional awareness, communication skills, and mental wellness in the collective community. I welcome the opportunity to help clients integrate their physical, spiritual and psychological experiences through the unique systemic lens that marriage and family therapy affords.
Outside of my professional life, I’m married and the proud parent of three kids. I’ve always had a love for music—it’s a grounding and joyful part of my life whether enjoying a live performance, or playing the cello. Another passion of mine has been volunteering at the UW Memory Brain and Wellness Center’s Memory Hub to work with those navigating memory loss conditions. Whether I’m sitting with clients in session, volunteering in the community, or spending time with my family, I strive to bring compassion, presence, and curiosity to everything I do.
